What a fall it’s going to be for Canadian football fans!
The 2010 Grey Cup Festival kicks off in Edmonton this Nov. 25-28 with four days of CFL-sanctioned excitement capped by a spectacular championship game.
“Edmonton is a natural home for our national championship, and the tremendous national gathering that comes along with it, so we’re excited it will host the 98th Grey Cup,” says Canadian Football League Commissioner Mark Cohon. “Nothing brings Canadians together like the Grey Cup, and no one has a better track record as Grey Cup hosts than Edmontonians.” This year’s theme is “Hot to Huddle” — and Canada’s two best teams will be doing just that as they tear up the field at Commonwealth Stadium for more than 60,000 passionate football fans.
The four-day festival also includes the Grey Cup Parade, the Grey Cup Dinner as well as parties and events galore guaranteed to embrace the energy and enthusiasm that sports fans like you will bring to Canada’s fabled game.
When it comes to a pigskin party, Edmonton knows how to throw the big plays and score some touchdown fun for visitors. The city’s three previous Grey Cup games — with attendance of 60,081, 60,431 and 62,531 — rank near the top of the all-time list of Grey Cups with the highest attendance.
