Meeting Facilities

Superior Summit Locales

Plan a great event right here in Edmonton. With its wide spectrum of familiar and unique meeting spaces, convention centres and hotels, Edmonton can satisfy — then surpass — your expectations and special requests.

Key meeting centres like the Shaw Conference Centre, Northlands and the Mayfield Trade Centre complement other unusual but highly effective venues such as the Royal Alberta Museum, TELUS World of Science™ – Edmonton and the acoustically perfect Winspear Centre concert hall.

A longtime favourite in the heart of the city, the Shaw Conference Centre features an 82,000-sq.-ft. hall (divisible into three venues) and 23 meeting rooms of various sizes. Now in its third decade, this glassed hillside gem recently added Hall D, a new space with spectacular 30-foot-high windows that affords a 270-degree view of Edmonton’s scenic valley park along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. Its windowed gallery provides the perfect setting for a sit-down dinner, where up to 1,200 guests can watch the sun set over the unspoiled urban wilderness. Hall “D” will also seat up to 2,000 people for meetings or provide space for 100 exhibit booths.

Also highly regarded as a major host of trade shows, sporting and agricultural events, Northlands has finessed the expertise it takes to accommodate 2,500 events and four million visitors a year with its coliseum and exhibit halls. As Northlands grows, its Project Evolution.09 promises to boost consumer show capacity to 500,000 sq. ft. of high-tech, integrated space with four new exhibit halls, a new conference area with meeting rooms and ballroom as well as new gallery spaces. Its food court features licensed services and wf network.

Another big performer in the hospitality pond, the Mayfield Trade Centre offers many amenities including a 50,000-sq.-ft. display area, on-site catering and a ballroom — all attached to a 327-room hotel.

Consider having your team attend annual events such as the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival and the Canadian Finals Rodeo, two of many unique attractions. Plan your event in the gardens within the glass pyramids of the Muttart Conservatory, or time-travel to a historic pioneer dinner at Fort Edmonton Park, Canada’s largest living-history museum.

Other worthy venues to consider include Sherwood Park’s Festival Place and Millennium Place, St. Albert’s Arden Theatre, Spruce Grove’s Horizon Stage and Spruce Grove’s TransAlta Tri-Leisure Centre, located throughout Greater Edmonton.
