KALYNA COUNTRY — Named after a highbush cranberry plant, pronounced “ka-lin-na” in Ukrainian, Kalyna berries were a popular source of food amongst the early pioneers in this eco-tourism district east of Edmonton. Today, Kalyna Country is a playground of rolling hills, abundant livestock and wildlife, crops and farmland, parks and wilderness, roadside attractions, hilltop views, homesteads and valleys.
