The Griesbach Gallery displays artifacts, photographics, and explanatory text mostly from The Loyal Edmonton Regiment’s experiences to outline Canada’s military history, focusing primarily on the First and Second World Wars. The Stone Gallery contains topical exhibits, check with the museum for the current exhibit information.

One of Canada’s Premiere museums, the Royal Alberta Museum is surrounded by a sculpture park overlooking the river valley. The Natural History Gallery offers specimens of plants, animals, birds, live insects, fossils and minerals. The Fossil Gallery features extinct beasts from ancient Alberta. The Syncrude Gallery of Aboriginal Culture tells the story of 11,000 years of survival, triumph and spirituality in aboriginal history. With 190 acres to explore, the University of Alberta Devonian Botanic Garden has something to appeal to the plant enthusiast, the nature-lover and visitors of all ages seeking to spend a few idyllic hours in beautiful natural surroundings. Out of the city (but only minutes away), the Garden features 80 acres of display gardens with 110 additional acres of natural acres and ecological preserves.
Enjoy indoor display greenhouses, a butterfly house, outdoor displays of annuals and perennials, the Kurimoto Japanese Garden, rose, lilac and peony collections, herb gardens, a native peoples’ garden, an extensive alpine garden, a sensory and healing garden and more. Find a natural handmade treasure at the Crafters Workshop or a special gift at the charming Shop-in-the-Garden. Gardeners will appreciate the unique and unusual annuals and perennials offered for sale. Guided tram tours are available for visitors to enjoy the Garden from seated comfort. This unique 97 sq. km day use recreation area offers more than 170 km of trails for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian riding; canoeing; birdwatching/wildlife viewing. In the winter months the park is used for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and skating. Facilities include four staging areas for parking, picnic tables/shelters, firepits and washrooms.
