About With 190 acres to explore, the University of Alberta Devonian Botanic Garden has something to appeal to the plant enthusiast, the nature-lover, and visitors of all ages seeking to spend a few idyllic hours in beautiful natural surroundings. Out of the city (but only minutes away), the Garden features 80 acres of display gardens with 110 additional acres of natural acres and ecological preserves. Indoor display greenhouses, butterfly house, outdoor displays of annuals and perennials, Kurimoto Japanese Garden, rose, lilac, and peony collections, herb gardens, native peoples\' garden, extensive alpine garden, sensory and healing garden and more.
